MAN ACCUSED OF MURDERING PARENTS TO APPEAR IN COURT TODAY

A man will appear in court again today charged with the murder of his parents at their home in Carndonagh.

Julian Cuddihy (right) will come before Judge Paul Kelly at a special sitting of Letterkenny District Court.

The 42 year old was remanded in Castlerea Prison after appearing at Ballyshannon District Court on Friday evening last.

Judge Kevin Kilrane ordered that Mr Cuddihy be psychologically assessed at the earliest practicably opportunity.

The accused is charged with murdering his parents at their home in Churchtown, Carndonagh on Thursday morning last.

Jimmy and Kathleen Cuddihy were buried yesterday amidst heartbreaking scenes as hundreds of people turned up to say a final farewell to the popular couple.

The tragic couple’s daughter Maureen appealed to people suffering from mental health issues to seek professional help.
