The 'A' rated energy efficient homes at Rann Mor Meadow in Letterkenny represent great value.

The ‘A’ rated energy efficient homes at Rann Mor Meadow in Letterkenny represent great value.

A leading selling agent from Sherry Fitzgerald Rainey has said that the development of ‘A’ rated energy efficient homes at Rann Mor Meadow estate is attracting huge interest.

Mary Rainey, a selling agent and director from Sherry Fitzgerald Rainey, has revealed that nearly all of the first phase of homes at Rann Mor Meadow have been sold.

According to Mary, that’s a clear indication that the banks are lending again, and that people see the incredible value on offer in the wonderfully innovative new homes at Rann Mor Meadow.

Mary was also quick to praise GDC Ireland Limited who created the fantastic project, and she has described the new development as the ‘Homes of the future’.

She also revealed that buyers have become more cost conscious now, and one of the most frequently asked questions aimed at her when showcasing property to potential new home-owners is, Are the homes they’re viewing energy efficient, and what energy rating are they?

That demand for energy rated and energy efficient homes is one of the main reasons the Rann Mor Meadow development has been such an overwhelming success so far.

Mary told Donegal Daily, “Eleven out of the fifteen homes in the first phase have been sold.

“Its become quite evidently clear that the banks are lending again, and people are taking advantage of that by investing in property.

“Potential new buyers can clearly see the incredible value on offer in the new development of homes at Rann Mor Meadow.

“Due to the high spec design of the homes by GDC, heating costs are significantly reduced.

Mary also added that the quality of the build, and the reputation of GDC, are big factors in why people are purchasing the new homes, but also feels the location of the homes are superb.

“GDC has built up a stellar reputation down through the years for building quality homes, but it’s also a great location.

“You’ve got some beautiful views of the town from the estate, and it’s only a five minute walk to town.

“For new home-owners, it’s the ideal location to set-up base.

While Mary admitted the property market hadn’t reached the level currently been seen in Dublin, she did say it was extremely positive, which is visible in the success of the Rann Mor Meadow project, after a difficult number of years in the property industry.

“It started to pick up last year, but then we wondered would it dry up, but thankfully it hasn’t, and the market is improving all the time.

“It’s not at the level currently being experienced in Dublin, but there’s been a huge improvement and its been a massive boost for the property industry in Donegal.
