ATHLETICS NEWS: FINN VALLEY ATHLETE TERESA DOHERTY WINS HER SEVENTH INDIVIDUAL TITLE

An excellent day for cross country at the Finn Valley Centre well prepared course and a large crowd add in a seventh individual title for Teresa Doherty ( Mc Gloin ) gone from the get go leading her Valley team to another team success the 41st at county level.

Her scoring team Catriona Devine 2nd, Catherine Dooher and Kay Byrne.

The mens 10k had all the thrills of a drama as LAC and Valley as expected went head to head the local lads out to retain their title and that target was in jeopardy with 2k to go.

As LAC had the lead but all was to change with Finn Valley getting control in that final phase led by Paddy Brennan supported on scoring team by Mark Hoy, Barry Harron, Adam Speer, Gerard Gallagher and Dermot Brennan.

Credit to both teams for a flat to the mat performance the individual title here going to Conor Bradley ( COD ) who passed out the courageous Pauric Mc Kinney on last lap competing with Inishowen .
