BREAKING NEWS: A burglary suspect who was part of a gang which raided Glenties homes and business premises has now escaped, and is on the run.

The 40-year-old was one of three arrested in Derry in connection with a series burglaries in Donegal.

Dungloe was also targeted on Monday.

He had been taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry after saying he had felt unwell.

It was from there the man escaped and still remains at large from the police.

The others arrested in connection with the robberies, all remain in police custody.

One of them is a woman.

The raids caused consternation in Glenties as the thieves went through at least ten homes and business premises.

They were caught after a text alert scheme was triggered.
