Despite coming out on the wrong end of a 3-14 to 2-13 scoreline against a strong St Michaels side which included 3 All Ireland medal holders, a makeshift Malin side produced a superb performance and only for a poor start could have pulled off a massive shock. With many of the Malin youngsters getting their first taste of competitive senior football, it was inevitable that nerves would play a part and the visitors took full advantage and soon ran into a 1-6 to 0-0 lead. Veteran Martin Lafferty goaled just before the interval to leave the score 1-3 to 1-9 in St Michaels favour. Growing in confidence as the game progressed, our lads took the game to their more experienced side and when veteran Packo Fildara found the net, a flurry of well taken points from Anthony Kelly, Dan Mc Daid and great effort from young Danny Mc Carron who celebrated his 17th birthday earlier in the week, left the game all square. St Michaels rallied and a after a Colm Mc Fadden penalty, the Dunfanaghy side held on for a narrow win. We can take great heart from the performance of our young side, with many of them still part of our minor squad, they showed great heart and commitment and refused to buckle even when in 9 points in arrears. With this in mind many of these lads will be pushing for a place in the starting line up in the near future. We have one game left in the campaign, a trip to Glenswilly in the coming weeks.

SCOR NA NOG
The Inishowen heat of the Scor Na Nog took place in Muff last weekend and congratulations to our traditional music group of Ruaidhri Mc Carron, Niall Kelly, Megan Mc Colgan, Breda Kelly and Aoife Mc Colgan who came second in a highly contested section and now progress to represent the club in the county final in Donegal Town on November 23rd in Donegal Town.
Our quiz team made up of Aoife Mc Colgan, Diarmuid Mc Carron, Ruaidhri Mc Carron and Niall Kelly finished in a credible 3rd place and were unlucky to miss out on a place in the final.
