Donegal Weather WarningMet Eireann has issued a weather warning for Donegal as strong winds and torrential rain get set to hit the county.

Donegal has been issued with a Orange Status weather warning ahead of the storm which will hit early tomorrow morning.

Gardaí have advised motorists to take extreme caution when driving as the combination of both elements will make driving extremely dangerous.

Donegal has enjoyed some pleasant and mild weather over the last week or so, but that will change drastically tomorrow morning.

The Orange Status alert has been put in place for twenty-four hours, but it could be extended into Saturday morning.

Forecasters hope the adverse weather will clear by Saturday, but have warned that temperatures will plummet from next week on as winter gets ready to move in.

The Orange Status alert was also issued to Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare and Longford.

ORANGE STATUS – Weather Warning – Be Prepared

This category of ORANGE level weather warnings is for weather conditions which have the capacity to impact significantly on people in the affected areas.

The issue of an Orange level weather warning implies that all recipients in the affected areas should prepare themselves in an appropriate way for the anticipated conditions.
