MOVILLE MINOR LADIES LOOK FORWARD TO ULSTER SEMI-FINAL

Moville MinorsSt Paul’s(Antrim ) 2-7 Moville 4-13

A scintillating second half performance saw Moville minor ladies progress to the Ulster club championship semi finals where they will meet Eastern Gaels from Cavan on Sunday week

The Antrim side were probably the better team in the first half where they had Moville pegged back in defence for prolonged periods however at the break it was Moville who went in with a point lead 2-4 to 1-6

It was all square after 10 minutes at 2 points apiece with Sarah Jane McDonald and Sinead McGuinness scoring for Moville. Niamh Adams got the opening goal of the game for St Pauls. However Moville responded in emphatic fashion with 2 fine goals from Kathy McLaughlin and Sarah Jane McDonald 2 points from Nicole McDermott completed the first half scoring for Moville

Moville came out for the second half with a new sense of urgency and had the tonic of a goal after 50 seconds from corner forward Sinead McGuinness and 5 minutes later Kathy McLaughlin bagged her second. St Pauls did pull a goal back from Dearbhaile McShane but Moville were now in command all over the pitch and some great points followed from Sarah Jane McDonald Caragh and Ashling McGuinness Balannad McLaughlin Nicole McDermot and Kathy McLaughlin

Manager Paul McDermott can now look forward with his backroom team to an Ulster semi final, which is scheduled for Carrick at 2pm on Sunday the 6th of December at 2pm.
