Barry McNamee is heading to League One side Fleetwood Town for a one week trial.

Derry City midfielder Barry McNamee who is out-of-contract at The Brandywell is going on trial with League One side Fleetwood Town.

McNamee has courted interest from a whole host of League of Ireland clubs as Derry battle to secure his signature ahead of the forthcoming 2015 season.

He has been offered a new two-year deal by Peter Hutton, but St Patrick’s Athletic and Sligo Rovers have made no secret of their interest in acquiring the services of the Ramelton native.

McNamee has told Derry City he’ll mull over their contract offer but said he’s in no rush to make a decision.

However, it’s now been revealed that the talented and dynamic midfielder is going on trial at Fleetwood Town this Sunday for a week’s trial.

Fleetwood currently occupy tenth position in League One, and McNamee will hope he can impress the management staff at the Lancashire based club.
