MAN SHOT AND BEATEN DURING ATTACK AT HIS HOME

BREAKING NEWS: A man has been shot in the chest in an attack in St Johnston last night.

Gardai are at the scene of tonight's attack.

The man was attacked at his own flat in the centre of the town.

Details of the incident are still emerging but it is understood a gun, possibly a pellet gun, was used to wound the man at close range.

The attack happened just after 5pm.

The man was also understood to have been beaten during the incident by the men who were wearing masks.

The man is believed to be in his 40s and from the locality.

It is not understood that anything was taken during the raid.

He was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

Gardai are at the scene and have launched a full investigation into the reason for the attack.
