GAA NEWS: URRIS U21’S NARROWLY DEFEATED BY GLENFIN

UrrisGaa3CLG IORRAS JUNIOR CLUB OF YEAR 2014: The club was presented with the Junior Club of the Year award for 2014 at the Donegal GAA Awards Night 2014 in the Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town on Saturday night.

It was a great honour for the club to win this award. The club was well represented on the night and a good night was had by all. It capped off what was a busy and successful year on and off the field of play.

U21: The U21 team played played Glenfin in the quarter final of the U21B Championship on Saturday and were unlucky to lose by a point. Final score: Glenfin 2-06 Urris 1-08.

AGM; Thanks to all who attended our AGM on Sunday night. A comprehensive review of what was a very successful year on and off the field of play was given. The following Officer board was elected for 2015: President: Fr Charlie Logue, Vice Presidents: John Joe Mc Daid, John Joe Cleary & Charlie Farren, Chairman: Danny Kelly, Vice Chairman: Neil G Mc Laughlin, Secretary: David Hession, Asst Secretary: Nichola Lagan, Treasurer: John Friel, Asst Treasurer: Edward Mc Laughlin, PRO:Rose Kelly, Children’s Officer: Susan Mc Carron, Coaching Officer: Donal Kelly, Culture Officer: Shaun Mc Daid, Senior Team Manager: TBC. Other sub officer roles, committees and team managers will be elected at a later date. The meeting concluded with thanking everyone who helped out at the club in any way during 2014 and wishing all a very Happy Christmas and a successful New Year on and off the field of play for 2015.

 

MATCH “N” WIN: December 4th: No jackpot winner- numbers drawn: 1,5, 13, 19. €15 winners: Martin Shiels, Isle of Doagh, Julie Diver, Mindoran, Don Mc Gonigle, Annaugh, Danny Mc Carron, Cleagh and Rose Mc Gonigle, Ballyliffin Hotel. SCOR NA nOG: A massive Well Done to our dancers who took part in the Ulster semi-final of Scor Na nOg in Glenullin on Sunday. The girls danced fantastic but unfortunately did not make it through to the final. CLG Iorras Thank You girls, Janet Coyle and Shaun Mc Daid for the great effort you all put in.

 

GREAT CLONMANY DUCK RACE 2014: Ducks are now on sale for our Annual Great Clonmany Duck Race on St. Stephen’s Day 2014. Ducks cost €5, please contact Adrian Doherty, Alan Friel and Michael Doherty to buy your ducks. Ducks will be on sale at Centra, Clonmany on Saturday (December 13th) from 9am to 5pm also. €150 for first duck home, €100 for second duck home, €50 for third duck home and €50 for last duck home etc.

 

U8 TRAINING: U8 training continues every Saturday in the Youth Club, Clonmany at 11.00am. €2 per child

 

U10 Girls: Training continues every Saturday at 12.15pm in the Youth Club, Clonmany. €2 per child.

 

BINGO: Bingo continues every Thursday night at 9.00pm in St. Mary’s Hall, Clonmany. Side prizes every night until Christmas. Bingo vouchers on sale at present.
