movilleMOVILLE GAA NOTES

LOTTO

There was no jackpot winner this week.

The winning numbers were 4, 10, 15, 22. The €50 runner-up prize goes to Larry McHenry.

Next week’s jackpot will be €6,600. Thank you for your continued support. We would like to appeal for more Lotto sellers as it is out main source of income.

CLUB MERCHANDISE

Why not contact Brigid Harkin for some club merchandise in the run up to Christmas? It would make a great stocking filler, orders for merchandise should be in ASAP to guarantee they’ll be in time for Christmas. There are new club jerseys for sale in all sizes and would make an ideal Christmas gift.

THE MINOR GIRLS UNLUCKY IN ULSTER

Our Donegal championship winning minor girls were looking good for a win against Cavan champions Eastern Gaels after a closely fought encounter at Carrick Field with both sides starting poorly in tough conditions with wind, rain and hail. The Cavan side opened the scoring with a goal in the 18th minute of the game. Both sides scored points before Aisling McGuinness found the net for the home side and the teams went in at half time separated by a point in favour of Eastern Gaels.

After the break Moville won a penalty, only for the chance to be missed. But the girls in blue stuck at it, added a point before Kathy McLaughlin did find the net to give her side a 2-03 to 1-03 lead. Eastern Gaels struck next, forcing home a penalty to level the game. Nicole Gordon pointed and when another one followed, Moville found themselves two points ahead with eight minutes left on the clock. But with the last kick of the game in injury time, the visitors found the net.

Final score was Moville 2-05, Eastern Gaels, 3-04. It was a fantastic achievement for the girls to win the county final this year, and they were unlucky not to be in the Ulster final.

CHRISTMAS CUP

A huge thank you to everyone who made the Christmas Cup a huge success. Well done to Derry managed by Shaun McClenaghan who ran out winners against Dublin managed by Maurice Harkin and Martin Mc Cullough. Well done to Kerry Brown and Matthew Harkin who won players of the tournaments. Roll on next year…
