The Deele College Christmas Carol Service has become one of the highlights of the school year.
And last night’s was no exception as students from the school’s TY classes and school choir, stunned the large crowd with an exceptional display of talent.
Under the direction of Ms Caitriona Bonner and with music from Austin Quinn, the students performed a variety of festive solo and group pieces in the beautifully serene specially decorated General Purpose area in the school.
With dimmed lights and lit candles adding to the atmosphere, the seasonal festival also included poetry and spoken word from students and there were festive recitations too from Deputy Principal Danny McFadden, Principal Joe Boyle and Transition Year Co-Ordinator Mary Gibbons.
Afterwards the Transition Year students got to show off their creative handiwork at the annual craft sale, where as usual, there was a huge array of Christmas treats, decorations and cards on sale.
Celebrations have been ongoing at Deele College since the start of the school year as part of the school’s 50th anniversary celebrations and huge get-together and more celebrations are being planned for the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day 2015.
