GARDAI are asking motorists to drive with extreme care this morning after temperatures dropped to -4C in inland areas of Co Donegal overnight.
Light ‘wet’ snow did fall in many areas after midnight.
Clearing clouds in the early hours of this morning have turned those wet roads to ice rinks in many areas.
Main routes have been gritted by Donegal County Council lorries.
However many roads in rural areas and in and around estates are in a poor condition.
Pedestrians have also been warned to take care on footpaths.
