A man has been taken from Arranmore Island after he suffered a fall earlier this afternoon.
The medical evacuation (medi-vac) took place just after 12.30pm.
It is understood the man suffered a head injury but the extent of his injury is not yet known.
The man was taken by lifeboat to the mainland where the Rescue 118 helicopter from Sligo collected him from the GAA grounds at Dungloe to Letterkenny General Hospital.
He was transferred by lifeboat to Burtonport and from there to the GAA grounds where the Sligo based Rescue 118 was on standby for the airlift.
