A man pulled two knives which he had hidden under a carpet of his motorcar on a woman during a dispute between neighbours.
Gerard Lafferty, 45, appeared before Letterkenny District Court today.
He was charged with producing an article during the course of a dispute on March 31st, 2013.
The court heard that Lafferty, of Ballykeeran, Kilmacrennan, and his family were involved in a long-running dispute with their then neighbours, the McGinleys.
On this occasion, solicitor Patsy Gallagher said Lafferty’s car was blocked in on the street and he could not get out.
An argument ensued and a woman received a graze on her palm.
Solcitor patsy Gallagher said the incident had arisen out of a long-running dispute between the two families.
Asked by Judge Kelly why his client had two knives in his car Mr Gallagher replied they were for cutting wires on a car radio he was fixing.
The victim, Mrs Patricia McGinley, suffered a minor cut to her palm during the incident, the court was told.
Judge Paul Kelly put the case back until March 2nd and asked for a probation report to be carried out on Lafferty.
