MET Eireann has issued a new Status Orange weather alert, with winds set to gust to more than 110m/hr in Donegal today with the west of the county bearing the brunt.
The alert applies until 9am tomorrow.
Forecasters and ESB Networks say the new storm has the potential to cause structural damage to buildings and cut power supplies.
It’s just the latest storm to hit Donegal.
And forecasters say it won’t be the end of it – with another low pressure system in the Atlantic set to hit land on Tuesday/Wednesday.
Moderate to strong westerly winds backing into southwest later with gusts to 100 km/hr will arrive on Tuesday.
On Wednesday there is some chance of very strong and damaging wind gusts with a possible Orange or even Red alert possible..

Wind Warning for Exposed western coasts
Southwest winds will reach mean speeds greater than 46 km/h with gusts between 80 and 110 km/h today but along exposed coasts mean speeds will reach up to 70 km/h with gusts greater than 110 km/h, strongest winds will come tonight.
