SENIORS
Cappry Rovers 1-0 Drumoghill
This game was played in poor conditions in Cappry. Drumoghill had a strong wind behind them in the first half and pressed hard to go in front but the home team defended well. Cappry were dangerous on the break in the first half with Alan Patton going close on a couple of occasions but both his efforts went wide. Benny Bonner’s 25 yard free kick just cleared the crossbar. Cappry held out to keep the game scoreless at half time. The breakthrough came in the 53rd minute when Benny Bonner’s corner found the bottom corner. In the 57th minute Benny Bonner chipped the Drumoghill keeper from 40 yards but saw his effort come back off the post. Drumoghill pressed hard to get level but the Cappry defence dealt well with the pressure. The closest Drumoghill came was when Liam O’Donnell got free in the box but his effort was cleared of the line by Gary Dunnion. Drumoghill kept pressing but couldn’t get through the Cappry defence. Team Performances from Cappry and Drumoghill. Ref: Kevin Logue
