THERE’S more snow over Donegal.
This was the scene in Loughanure just before midnight last night.
Met Eireann has issued a Yellow Status alert – for snow and ice – as temperatures plummet again.
It says snow showers overnight in Ulster and Connacht will result in accumulations of up to 3cm, locally inland.
Snow flurries elsewhere may result in a lighter dusting of snow. Air temperatures will fall to between 0 and – 4 degrees Celsius, except in some Atlantic coastal districts.
Widespread frost and ice will occur, resulting in treacherous conditions on untreated roads and footpaths.
A numer of sporting events have been cancelled as a result of frozen pitches.
Donegal County Council gritting lorries are out this morning treating main routes.
