We all know the fantastic job the hard-working staff at Donegal Hospice do every single day and the care they provide for those terminally ill.
Liam Ward, an employee at Specsavers is in charge of the Donegal Devils who organised the Hell and Back endurance course in Wicklow last year.
This year the event will be held in Sligo and Liam is confident they can get participants to take part in an event which he describes as ‘a bit of craic’!
Liam told Donegal Daily, “The event we did last year was in Co. Wicklow and it was a cold wet Sunday in February.
“This year we’re doing the same thing but it is in Sligo on the 16th of May so it should be warmer!
“It’s a 12km course billed as “Irelands toughest mental and physical endurance challenge”.
“But really it’s just a bit of craic. Participants will encounter muddy pits, electric fences, 10 foot walls, river crossings as well as many other fun and challenging obstacles.
People can expect to get very wet and dirty but it’s all in the name of a good cause as Liam points out.
Liam added, “Last year we raised €6,060 for the Donegal Hospice and this year we hope to do even better.
“There will be a free return bus from Letterkenny and refreshments for all those taking part.
“Anybody who thinks they are tough enough to undertake this challenge can contact myself or Lorraine in store or email email@example.com.
To kick off their fundraising drive for the Donegal Hospice we will be hosting a Valentines fun weekend in Specsavers.
There will be tea, coffee, sweets and treats for everybody as well as some prize giveaways.
This will take part on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th of January.Tags:
