Uptown Café and XL shop is set to officially launch this Saturday 14th February 2015 with an exciting family event from 12 – 3pm.
Customers can expect a fun filled day for all the family, with face painting, balloon modelling, music and dance classes for children, a bouncy castle, a rally car display and tasty treats from the Uptown Café menu.
2014 Irish Tarmac Champion Declan Boyle will attend the official launch, showcasing his Subaru Impreza WRC.
The 2014 National Modified Rally Champion, Declan Gallagher, will also be coming along to the launch with his white Toyota Starlet.
There will be a host of other special guests popping in throughout the day, as well as lots of giveaways and special offers.
The cafe and convenience store is located in Scally Place, Justice Walsh Road, (behind Letterkenny Courthouse and adjacent to the Outpatients Department and Scally Medical Practice), where there is ample parking.
The Uptown Cafe team is busy preparing for this weekend’s official launch.
Local business men Manus Kelly and Seamus Doherty set up the venture and are delighted with the support they have received from family, friends and customers ahead of the launch.
Manus Kelly told Donegal Daily, “‘We’re putting final preparations in place for the official launch on Valentine’s Day and we’re looking forward to welcoming families and customers to the family fun day.
“All of our staff have been really busy getting ready for the event and we’re sure that everyone is going to enjoy the tasty treats and entertainment that we’re putting on.’
The Uptown Cafe and XL shop is also delighted to announce that TV chef and Donegal native, Gary O’Hanlon, will be joining them in store this Pancake Tuesday, 17th February 2015 at 11am.
Gary is the head chef at Viewmount House, Longford, and is also the ‘Starters Chef’ on well known TV3 programme, The Restaurant.
Gary will be on site to give a cooking demonstration and customers can expect the celebrity chef to serve up some tasty pancakes and other delicious treats while they relax in the Uptown Cafe atmosphere.
Opened since December 2014, the Uptown Café has built a steady customer base and is forging a reputation for offering delicious fresh food, excellent value and great service.
The menu features homemade soup, gourmet sandwiches, daily lunch specials, hot dishes and an excellent selection of coffees and yummy pastries, all expertly prepared in store by the café’s friendly staff.
The menu also includes a range of healthy options including the oven-cooked Uptown Breakfast Special.
The Café’s motto is “… love your downtime” and the team is committed to ensuring every customer experiences this with great fresh food, served in a relaxed comfortable café setting.
Uptown Café is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and on Saturday’s from 8am to 5pm.
