Paul Boyce was due to appear at Letterkenny District Court.

The 25 year old was caught by Sgt Paul Magee with €20 worth of cannabis at Shelfield, Ramelton on March 14th.

Sgt Magee revealed “I opened up the car and there was a very strong smell of cannabis form the cockpit.”

The court was told that Boyce, of Pound Street, Ramelton, could not appear in court as he was fitting water meters in Dublin.

Judge Paul Kelly fined Boyce, who had previous convictions for assault and public order, €250.
