Two seafood processing industries in Killybegs are being sanctioned grants of over €500,000.
Killybegs Seafoods Frozen Ltd have been approved for a grant of €500,000. Island Seafoods Ltd. Killybegs have been approved for a grant of €17,550.
This will generate a total investment of almost €4 million in the Seafood Industry in Killybegs.
Minister for State Joe McHugh welcomed the announcement.
“This investment, which is co-funded by the Department and the European Fisheries Fund, will help bring both jobs to the area, and also strengthen Killybegs’ position as a leading location for seafood processing in Ireland,” he said.
Deputy Dinny McGinley also welcomed this development as it will lead to the sustaining of current employment in these industries and with the potential of creating extra jobs.
