BREAKING NEWS: Gardai have discovered the body of a man after a lake was pumped out in Gaoth Dobhair.
The man, understood to be a local married man in his 50s, had been missing for a time before Gardai and the other rescue services were alerted last night.
A large-scale search involving the Rescue 118 helicopter from Sligo, the Donegal Mountain Rescue and Bunbeg Coastguard then launched a search of the area.
The Gardai then requested the local fire service to pump a lake and the man’s body was discovered.
The body was found in water on a hillside close to the Gaoth Dobhair wind farm.
At this stage the man’s identity has not yet been released until all family members are informed.
