Killaghtee Parish Good Friday Walk
Dunkineely Community Ltd in conjunction with the three churches in Killaghtee Parish is to hold a Good Friday walk on Friday 3rd April starting at Dunkineely Methodist Church at 1pm, pausing at Killaghtee Church of Ireland and finishing at Bruckless Chapel around 2pm. They are looking for members of the parish from all church backgrounds and none to join them as they carry a cross from Dunkineely to Bruckless to mark the special day of Christ’s death shared by all Church traditions. Don your walking boots, trainers, bring the children and make it a family outing if you wish. It’s a great opportunity for everyone to get together and take some exercise whilst remembering the meaning of Good Friday. Garda support will keep us safe on the main road, but once we reach Darney, the route leads along back roads and by Bruckless shore – many thanks to Joan Evans for allowing us through the grounds of Bruckless House. If you would like more details or to let the group know in advance you intend to walk, please phone the DCL Office on 074 9737678 or speak to one of the three clergy. Last year we were blessed by sunshine. Start your prayers now and we hope for more of the same!
Dunkineely in Bloom ran very successfully last year with two workshops and over 30 competition entries. If you’d like to help make it bigger and better this year please contact DCL on 074 9737678 or dunkineelycommunity@gmail.com
