A mixture of the “old and new” combined to give Finn Harps another three points with a great 2-0 victory against Cobh Ramblers at Finn Park tonight.
New signing Wilfried Tagbo bagged his first goal for Harps with a well-taken lob over Cobh ‘keeper David Browne in the 21st minute.
Harps threatened to go further ahead in the opening half as Garbhan Friel went close on at least two occasions.
Harps looked comfortable against a Cork side who lost their manager last week and are going through a transition.
The final word was left with veteran Kevin McHugh who sealed the points for Harps in the 90th minute, much to the delight of a decent crowd in Ballybofey.
The Harps captain, who again started on the bench, proved that he still has an eye for goal.
Ollie Horgan could not have asked for a more positive start to the new season who two wins and a draw in his opening three games.
