Arthritis Ireland has just announced the formation of the new Arthritis Ireland Donegal Branch.
With a new committee, fresh ideas and events already on the horizon the Donegal Branch aims to help support, advise and create awareness locally in Donegal.
Arthritis affects one in five people in Ireland with over 32,000 people affected in Donegal.
The disease attacks the joints and causes pain, inflammation and sometimes permanent deformity, making even the most basic of everyday tasks, like brushing teeth, getting dressed or making a cup of tea, a struggle. It affects all age groups and there are over 1000 children living with arthritis in Ireland today. Within Donegal alone there are approximately 20 families who have children with arthritis.
Arthritis Ireland and the Donegal Branch are hosting a FREE Arthritis Family Fun Day, on Saturday 18th April in Arena7, with expert guest speakers for parents and fun and games for all of the children Everyone is welcome to attend this event. Please contact Laura at (01) 6470200 or register online at www.jadonegal.eventbrite.ie
Tilly Hyndman, Arthritis Ireland Donegal Branch, Chairperson said Arthritis affects so many people of all ages.
“It is crucially important for the new branch to create support and awareness for the local community within Donegal through events, seminars, workshops and exercise groups. We are excited and positive about the upcoming months and we encourage anyone who wishes to get involved to get in touch with us’.
