PICTURE SPECIAL: These stunning images of the Northern Lights were taken by the supremely talented local photographer Adam Rory Porter.
The breath-taking snaps were taken last night by Adam at Malin Head, Ireland’s most northerly point.
Adam told Donegal Daily. “I was joined by fellow Aurora hunters Rónán McLaughlin and his son Óisín, after his spot on optimistic predictions of a good chance of tonight’s event.
“Mark McLaughlin from Buncrana Camera Club dragged me out of the house and off to Malin we went!
“The skies danced in green – white formations and pillars of light to the naked eye.
Then the camera caught even more intense greens, pinks and even purple-blue tones.
Before the moon rose it was spectacular, and even after the moon climbed into the sky it was still amazing!
All in all, an absolutely fabulous night.
