New! Boys Club for 5th & 6th Classes starting soon on Tuesdays from 5.15-6.15pm with a 8-week personal and social development programme.
Experience and enjoy new things; develop interests; build confidence; develop relationships; develop social skills; explore values and beliefs; tackle bullying; team building. Activities will include-team games, alternative games (uni-hoc, dodge-ball, table-tennis and pool), cooking and baking, computers and arts & crafts. On completion of the 8-week programme there will be an outing decided by the group.
There will be a €5 registration fee.

Youth Café
There are a number of changes to the Wednesday night Youth Café for 1st -5th Year Secondary School Students. There will now be a €5.00 registration fee with competitions such as Fifa, Darts, Pool, Table-tennis, and Arts & Crafts, Cooking and Baking. We are also looking to organise a summer outing. The Youth Café runs from 7.00-9.00pm each Wednesday night during school term.
Summer Project 2015
The joint summer project between Raphoe Family Resource Centre and Springboard Family Support Project will take place from Tuesday 14th –Friday 24th July inclusive. Registration will take place on Tuesday 7th July at 11.00am in Springboard and at 6.00pm in the Family Resource Centre. Cost €5.00 per individual child, €8.00 for 2 children and €10.00 for 3 or more. Make sure to pin those dates on your ridge!

LITTLE SMILES WITH BIG DREAMS
Little Smiles with Big Dreams is a parent and toddler group that meets every Wednesday morning at 10:30am – 12 noon in the Family Resource Centre. Anyone who is in care of a child where it is an aunt / uncle/ child-minder or grandparent is welcome. The kiddies can get involved in Messy play, free play, story time and music time where the adult can enjoy a cuppa tea and meet other adults. Parent and Toddler are a great way to enhance your little one confidence and meet others their age. A light lunch is provided and a small cost of 50 cent per family.
Raphoe Walking Group
The Walking Group meets every Thursday morning at 10.30am. All abilities are catered for. And an important element of the group is coming in afterwards to have a chat and a cuppa.
Women’s Group
The next meeting of the Family Resource Centre’s Women’s Group will take place on Monday 27th April at 8.00pm.
Primary Course in Food Safety
The Family Resource Centre is proposing to run the 8 hour training programme Primary Course in Food Safety. The aim of the course is provide food workers with adequate training in the basic principles of food safety. The course is suitable for anyone who prepares or handles food in any environment including the home. There will be 4×2 hour sessions to include the following topics; Introduction to Food Safety, Microbiological Hazards, Food Contamination, HACCP from Food Delivery to Storage, HACCP from Food Preparation to Cooking Service and Service, Personal Hygiene, Food Premises and Equipment, Pest Control, Cleaning and Disinfection, and Food Safety Law and Enforcement. The course, which is accredited will be facilitated by Donna Quinn who is a member of the Environmental Health Officers’ Association. Countdown to Raphoe 5K!
Donegal Athletics Board recently launched its annual Grand Prix Series of races for 2015 and Raphoe Family Resource Centre is delighted to announce that its 5k is included this year again and will be held on Tuesday 7th July commencing at 7.30pm. This very well supported race in Raphoe in association with Lifford AC is now into its 5th consecutive year and to celebrate the occasion there will be a reduced entry fee this year of €7.00 per individual; €20.00 for a family of 3 or more. We look forward to the continued support of the local Athletic Clubs and Running Groups. With 12 weeks to the event there is plenty of opportunity to get into training and for those of you who have never run before to join one of the many local ‘Couch to 5k’ groups in the area so get running!

Young Carers Group
Are you a young carer? Do you help to take care for someone at home who has an illness, disability, substance misuse, mental health difficulty or bereavement? Raphoe Tidy Towns Ltd Community Appeal 2015.
The Application for the town has now arrived and will be sent off before the end of May this year. Judging will be during the months of June, July and August. Thank you to everyone in our community for your great support over the years. Last year our town received a third Silver Medal Award which is an excellent achievement. We need the help of our entire community this year again. You can help by tidying your gardens, your houses, properties, painting, weeding, keeping your area litter free, putting out window boxes or hanging baskets. If you are the owner of a derelict property please help the town by tidying up before the end of May. Remember our deadline is the end of May as judging commences in June. Your help is needed and appreciated very much. Financial donations or donations of Paint, Shrubs or Flowers for this year would also be very helpful. Fibromyalgia Coffee Day & Book Sale

Lifford Youthreach
Lifford Youthreach is an education and training centre for young people who have left school, without Junior or Leaving Certificate.
We cater for young people between the ages of 16-20 years. We provide a range of subjects and qualifications for learners to ensure they leave the programme with the skills and abilities necessary to enter the world of work, or go on to further education. Young people who attend the programme receive a weekly allowance, which is dependent on their attendance. Young people are given the opportunity to try out new skills and subjects which will help them develop a sense of what it is they want to achieve in life, in relation to their career and education choices.
