TERMON MAN DROVE THROUGH LETTERKENNY AT 120KM/HR

gavel1A TERMON man who drove through Letterkenny at 120km/hr has been ordered to go on a safer driving course.

Eamon Flood, Carnasaul, Termon admitted dangerous driving at Port Rd, Letterkenny two weeks ago – on May 3 2015.

The 23-year-old’s car was being driven on a road with a 50km/hr speed limit.

Garda Inspector Goretti Sheridan said the incident happened late at night in very wet conditions when Flood was driving his 95-registered Vauxhall Cavalier.

 

Flood has six previous convictions including one for carless driving, failing to wear a seatbelt and driving as a learner without an experienced driver. He also has a conviction for handling stolen goods.

Judge Paul Kelly said the offence was ‘extremely serious’.

He ordered Flood to attend the pro-social driving course and to pay €150 towards the cost of the course.

The judge adjourned sentence until July to allow Flood to complete the course.
