A glut of house repossession cases are due before the Registrar’s Court in Co Donegal today.
More than 200 of the cases are down to be heard at the court building in Letterkenny throughout the day.
It is the latest in a series of sittings to deal with a massive backlog of repossession cases involving banks and building societies seeking to have houses repossessed.
A number other such cases have been dealt with in recent months.
The houses are located across the entire county with many being second houses or investment houses.
Each case is dealt with by County Registrar Geraldine O’Connor on an individual basis after the facts are heard.
It is expected that a small amount of the 200 or so cases before today’s court sitting will be finalised with the rest adjourned for another date of hearing.
