Almost 400 students are having a unique experience – life without electricity!
The students are on Arranmore Island which has been without electricity all day.
The island was hit by a power-cut from 11am this morning and power is not expected to be restored until this evening.
The ESB has confirmed that staff are working to restore the supply.
It is thought that heavy lightning from electrical storms caused the outage.
“Students have been unable to power their laptops and other electrical gadgets and have had to do without them for a day, which is quite a unique experience for them,” said a spokesman.
