GAA: There was heartbreak for the Donegal U14 girls team as they lost their All-Ireland Final replay against Tipperary in Tuam earlier this afternoon.
Greg Harkin’s side have performed heroics to reach the final but will now feel they let the title slip away last week when they lead heading into the final few minutes.
A late double goal salvo ensured Tipperary got a replay and they edged Donegal out in a game played in difficult conditions this afternoon.
Wind and rain lashed down all afternoon and handling and underfoot conditions were treacherous.
Tipperary had a wind advantage in the first-half and they led by SEVEN points at half-time on a score-line of 1-07 to 0-03.
Donegal fought back bravely in the second-half and chipped away at Tipperary’s advantage and got within THREE points of them as the clock ticked towards full-time.
However, deep, deep into stoppage time Tipperary sealed the victory when they scored another goal to win the All-Ireland U14 B title.
FINAL SCORE – Tipperary 2-10 Donegal 1-07
The Donegal girls have done their county proud and have enjoyed an incredible season.
Well done to all the management staff and players who have put in such an incredible effort all season.
