FEMALE motorists travelling alone have been warned to be vigilant after a woman claims three men tried to get her to stop her vehicle in Co Donegal on Wednesday night.
The woman was driving from Sligo to Derry when the three men in a red Sligo-registered golf began driving behind her.
In what was a terrifying ordeal for the young woman, she was forced to call gardai – but the men and the car managed to speed off when gardai tried to intercept them in Ballybofey.
This is what happened – in the woman’s own words – as told to Donegal Daily
“I was travelling Sligo – Derry direction alone. A car with 3 men tried to flag me down on many occasions when there was no other cars around, Eased back when there was (between Ballintra and Ballybofey). I pulled in to the hard shoulder to let the car past but it didn’t pass me. It flashed many times through Barnesmore Gap and drove up tight behind me so I couldnt get the number plate. I felt uneasy to say the least.
“At roadworks the other car left full headlights on so the number plate couldn’t be read. I had rang gardai who had were waiting for me in Ballybofey who said it was suspicious activity. Gardai rang me back and said they went to try catch up but were unsuccessful.
“I want Donegal Daily readers to know about this; Please share this on social media. PLEASE BEWARE AND DON’T PULL IN ON ANY OCCASION ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT.”
