To Get to McGlinchey’s Field Study Centre
McGlinchey’s Field Study Centre is at the end of the L7743. Coming from Ardara, the L7743 is on the left, 0.74km (0.46miles) past Sandfield Pitch and Putt. Continue on the L7743 for 0.75km, McGlinchey’s Field Study Centre is the 2 storey building on your right.
Coming from Kilclooney towards Ardara, you pass the turnoff for Rosbeg on your right. The next right (0.5km or 0.33mile further on) is the L7743. Continue on the L7743 for 0.75km, McGlinchey’s Field Study Centre is the 2 storey building on your right.
Naomh Ultan
There was no winner of the Royal Flush Jackpot over Christmas. The numbers drawn were: 6, 12, 16 and 19. Consolation prizes went to: Rodger Meehan, Dunkineely; Terence McGinley, Ballymagowan and Pauric Fisher, Dunkineely.
Likewise, there was no winner of last week’s Royal Flush Jackpot. The numbers drawn were: 5, 8, 19 and 20. Consolation prizes went to: Sheila Meehan, Dunkineely; Conal McGinley, Calhame and Rory Leahy, Mountcharles. Next week’s Jackpot will be €1,020. Thank you for your support.
The club held a very enjoyable Presentation Dance in the Abbey Hotel on Saturday last (2nd Jan). Special guest of honour, Anthony Molloy, along with, local hero, Martin Shovlin, presented Championship and League Winning Medals to the players.
Other award winners, on the night… the award for Senior Player of the Year went jointly to Jonathan Cassidy and Cian Kennedy. The Young Player of the Year award went to Daniel Gallagher. The Reserve Player of the Year went to Michael Breslin. Special presentations were also made to Club Referee, Ronan Kennedy and Team Manager, Brendan McGready. Well done to all members who helped to organise a wonderful night.
This week’s Club 25 Card Drive will be held on Friday the 8th January in Mary Murrin’s, Bruckless, starting at 8:00pm; proceeds in aid of Donegal Mountain Rescue.

Southwest Donegal Birdwatchers
Southwest Donegal Birdwatchers are having an outing to the Gweebara Estuary on Saturday 16th January. They will be meeting at Darnell’s Filling Station, Portnoo Road, Ardara, at 10:00am. Everybody is warmly welcome but is reminded that each person is responsible for their own safety. Please bring waterproof clothing, a packed lunch and a flask.
South Donegal Branch of the Irish Pony Club
The current programme of both riding and stable management at MW Stables, Doorin Line, Mountcharles is continuing on Saturday afternoons. If you are interested in becoming a member or just taking a look at what the Pony Club does and meet other pony club members, ring Marie Hainsworth 086 2313964.
Bluestack Ramblers

A group of people are going to study together ‘The Way of the Heart’ during 2016, and you are invited to join them. Please note that DCL Office Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays are dedicated to projects outside the office. If someone is in the office on these days, please come in. feel free to pop into the office for a chat, use the Internet (20c per half hour), print or photocopy documents (20c per page) or borrow a book (20c per book).

Library
One of the greatest gifts you can give a child is to teach him of her to read; it is something that will help them throughout their lives, and will bring them a lot of pleasure. It is sad to see so many libraries closing, through lack of funding, but we are happy to report that Dunkineely Community Ltd (DCL) has a small library of over 1000 books. We have books ranging from Children’s Literature to Teenage Fiction (The Fault in our stars), Biographies to Classics (Jane Austen – Pride and Prejudice), from Horror to Comedy, Booker-Prize to Thrillers, Health to Hobbies, etc. etc. Borrowing costs 20c per book.
