GAVIN DYKES SET TO BE APPOINTED AS FINN HARPS ASSISTANT MANAGER

Former Finn Harps player and manager Gavin Dykes is expected to return to the club and take up the vacant role of assistant manager following the departure of James Gallagher.

Gallagher was unable to continue in his role as Harps No.2 – and stepped down last month citing family and work commitments as the reason for his decision.

It was a big blow to Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan who praised Gallagher for the huge role he played in Harps promotion success.

However, there has been widespread speculation in the last few days that Gavin Dykes is set to return to Harps as assistant manager.

Earlier this evening Sligo FC announced that Dykes had stepped down from his role as Head of Youth Development at the club – which added more fuel to the rumours that he will return to Navenney Street.

With Harps beginning pre-season training next week it’s expected that Horgan will announce his No.2 in the next few days.
