JOhn O'Donnell RTEDonegal County Councillor Dessie Shiels has walked out of today’s Letterkenny Municipal Authority’s meeting in protest at the presence of Cllr John O’Donnell.

And Councillor Shiels says he expects other councillors will vent their anger at Cllr O’Donnell when a full sitting of Donegal County Council takes place at the end of the month.

The meeting began at 2pm today but Cllr Shiels walked out of the meeting.

It is the first meeting to be held since Cllr O’Donnell was filmed allegedly asking for money by a bogus wind farm company set up by the RTE Investigates programme.

Cllr O’Donnell has claimed that he was entrapped by RTE and has launched legal proceedings against the national broadcaster.

Cllr Shiels said he had no choice but to walk out of today’s meeting and withdrew the motions he had down for discussion.
