There is widespread anger among locals after rubbish was strewn all over a walkway at a scenic location in Donegal.

A parent walking his children to school this morning stumbled across the scene and was appalled at the sight he witnessed.

He sent us in a number of images which highlight just how much of a mess the area was left in after the louts dumped bags of rubbish in the area.

Unfortunately, it’s not the first time rubbish has been strewn all across the area and locals are demanding action.

The area is regularly frequented by walkers – and locals in the area have made contact with Donegal County Council officials to begin a clean-up operation.

The parent who contacted us who wishes to remain anonymous told us, “On my way to leaving my child at school this morning, I came on this disgusting scene at Loughside, in the Woodlands area of Letterkenny.

“I’m a local resident and I’m truly disgusted that we still have to put up with this in this day and age.

“Something has to be done as it’s not the first time rubbish has been dumped here, it’s not acceptable.
