We could be seeing this overnight tonight
BREAKING NEWS: Met Eireann has issued a snow warning for Donegal for tonight and tomorrow.
Up to 8cms of snow could fall in the county, a spokesman told Donegal Daily.
The Snow-ice Warning is for Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo
“Snow accumulations of between 4 and 8 cm possible from midnight tonight until midnight on Thursday. The highest amounts on high ground,” said Met Eireann in its warning
The warning is valid from Thursday 14 January 2016 00:01 to Thursday 14 January 2016 23:59.
Donegal County Council says gritting lorries will be out overnight tonight on major routes.
Temperatures will fall to -5C overnight.
Met Eireann says the snowfall will severely disrupt travel, particularly from breakfast time tomorrow.
