FEATURES: In preparation for the Conference ‘Remembering 1916: Ethical & Global Perspectives’ there will be four workshops exploring the narratives that relate to the key events being commemorated in 2016, a century on from their occurrence – the Easter Rising and the Battle of the Somme.

There will be a particular focus on the stories that have tended to be submerged by the more predominant narratives, in particular it is hoped to consider the stories specific to Donegal.

Our first workshop on Thursday January 14th at 6.30pm in Central Library will focus on ‘Ethical Remembrance and the Battle of the Somme’.

There will be a series of workshops in the lead-up to the Easter Rising commemorations.

All with a keen interest in history and Irish politics are invited to attend the event which will include guest speakers.
