A Donegal shop is celebrating this morning after it sold the €500,000 Euromillions Plus jackpot winner.

There were great scenes at the Sweet News news agency in Killybegs after staff were told at 8.30am that they had sold the winning ticket.

The identity of the winner is still not known but staff say they have a feeling it is a local customer!

Shop assistant Brid Doogan told Donegal Daily they are over the moon at the win.

“The shop has been open for 28 years and this is our biggest win. Everyone is delighted and there is a real buzz around the place.

“Everyone is checking their tickets but nobody has claimed the prize just yet. We think it is a local customer and we wish them all the best with this great sum of money,” she said.

The winning numbers were 2,29, 39, 44 and 49.

The Sweet News news agency is owned by local woman Catherine Gallagher.
