U18 BLAZE GIRLS CLAIM NORTH WEST TITLE

Ballyshannon 46. Blaze 53.
After a year of some close games both at school and club level the NW Final of the U18 Girls was always going to be hard to call.

But the Blaze girls were in no mood to being second best and from the tip off contested every ball and play with great commitment.

Half time score they were in the lead by 32 to 18.

The Ballyshannon girls kept the pressure and in the fourth Quarter reduced the lead to 4. However the Blaze girls kept their composure and ran in some good scores to win the game by 7.

A great all round performance by all the girls.

Thanks also to match officials N.Weir,B.Collins and table officials.

U12 Blaze Boys BLITZ

unnamed-180

The U12 boys hosted their home blitz for the season on Sunday 10th January in Loreto.

They registered full points for the day with a 28-14 win over Donegal and beating Ballyshannon for the first time on a scoreline of 22-16. Although Sligo All Stars won on the day they had to forfeit the points having fielded less than 10 players. The boys all played to their potential and played so well as a team. A really enjoyable day and thanks to all the great home support.

Elsewhere in a busy weekend of games U14 girls won both their matches against Kilcar BC and Sligo All Stars BC. U14 boys won against Kilcar also while U18 boys registered a good win against Omagh Thunder BC. U16 boys and U16 girls lost out in their matches to Blackwater Steelers and Sligo All Stars. Under 16 dev boys also got a win in Mulroy.
