Martin ‘Rocky Balboa’ McGlynn is keen on causing an upset at the Dungloe GAA Fight Night.

DDTV: Martin ‘Rocky Balboa’ McGlynn is hoping to overcome all the odds when he steps into the ring next month for the Dungloe Charity Fight night.

McGlynn is a big, big underdog as he faces Conor Comack – who is well-renowned for his punching power.

Comack, a southpaw, has a vicious left hook and has already stated publicly he’ll be looking for an early KO – as he’s rallying the next day and wants to get to his bed early!

However, McGlynn who was a supremely talented footballer for Dungloe GAA club during his playing career – is keen on causing an upset.

He has undergone a rigorous training programme – as documented in the video above, which was brilliantly produced by Paddy McLaughlin from Signz.ie

McGlynn is taking inspiration from his childhood hero Rocky, and is hoping his demanding training schedule between now and the fight will have him well-prepared for victory.

His close friend Brendan McGee told Donegal Daily, “McGlynn is as focused as I’ve ever seen him.

“The last time I seen him this motivated was when we were playing Gaoth Dobhair in the Donegal SFC.

“He’s annoyed at being written off by the many ‘so-called’ boxing experts around Dungloe – who think Comack will have too much power for him.

“He’s training like an animal and has already seen the new boxing film ‘Creed’ eight times.”

The video was created by Paddy McLaughlin who is Martin’s brother-in-law.

Paddy told Donegal Daily, “Me and Martin decided for the craic to make the video to help promote the Dungloe GAA Fight Night.

“We made it last Sunday for a couple of hours, and it was filmed (on a fecking iPhone!) as you can see with the shaky hand!

“It’s not even something we do here at the business we are just a signage and printing business!

“I just put in the Signz Media Production thing as a bit a craic!
