A grant of €88,064 for Ceiltigh Ghaoth Dobhair Soccer Club for the development of a playing pitch for children.
Minister Joe McHugh has sanctioned and welcomed the grant.
Minister of State McHugh said that he is very pleased to be in a position to assist this Club. “If sports clubs are to attract and retain athletes, they must provide standard facilities for everyone,” he said.
The Minister of State also said that this is a great opportunity to engage children in playing soccer and to do so through Irish.
“I’m pleased,” he said, “that the Club will have a Language Plan which will help to promote the Irish language in the Club itself and in the surrounding area.”
Tá fógartha ag an Aire Stáit do Ghnóthaí Gaeltachta, Joe McHugh T.D., go bhfuil deontas de €88,064 ceadaithe aige do Chlub Sacair Cheiltigh Ghaoth Dobhair chun páirc imeartha do pháistí a fhorbairt.
Ag fógairt an deontais, dúirt an tAire Stáit McHugh go raibh sé sásta go raibh ar a chumas cuidiú leis an gCumann seo. “Má tá cumainn spóirt chun lúthchleasaithe a mhealladh agus a choinneáil, caithfidh siad áiseanna caighdeánacha a chur ar fáil do gach duine,” a dúirt sé. Dúirt an tAire Stáit chomh maith gur deis iontach í an fhorbairt seo páistí a mhealladh chun sacar a imirt agus é sin a dhéanamh trí mheán na Gaeilge. “Tá áthas orm,” a dúirt sé, “go mbeidh Plean Teanga i bhfeidhm ag an gCumann a chuideoidh le cur chun cinn na Gaeilge sa chumann féin agus sa cheantar máguaird.”
