Rumours that she was pulling out of the race for a Dáil seat in the Donegal Constituency have been laughingly denied by Independent Councillor, Niamh Kennedy.

The Killybegs-based Councillor said she is happy to confirm that she is running as an Independent candidate in the forthcoming General Election.

“Somebody must be getting really worried to put out a lie like this”, she said. “It’s just wishful thinking on their part.

“I am running and I will be launching my campaign with a function in the Bay View Hotel, Killybegs, on Saturday night, January 6. Everyone is welcome”, she said.
