There are fears that Donegal sex attacker Richard Blackburn may have sexually abused many other girls.

It comes after the husband of Blackburn’s victim revealed that it least two other girls told him they were also victims of the Raphoe youth club worker.

Blackburn was jailed last week after being found guilty of sexually abusing Rachel McCauley after he volunteered to drive a bus for the Raphoe Congregational Church.

Rachel now lives in Cumbria in Scotland but gave a victim impact statement to Gardai which was read to Letterkenny Circuit Court last week.

However, Rachel’s husband Stephen says he knows there are other victims of the 57 year old pervert out there.

“There are other victims out there. Two other people came to us and said it happened to them.

“And I would love it if other victims would come forward and speak with the Gardai.

“He had access to hundreds of children in that church group, there were children all over the place,” he said.

Rachel was attacked almost on a daily basis between the ages of 13 and 15 by Blackburn, often in the back of his converted Mercedes van.

Stephen also lashed out at the sentence handed down, saying it means monster Blackburn will be freed in just nine months.

Gardai have not officially commented on claims that there may be many other victims of the youth club worker out there.

However one Garda source did say “If there are other people out there who feel they may have been the victim of this man, they we would appeal with them to come forward.

“We cannot investigate any further claims unless an allegation is made.”
