WEATHER ALERT: ROADS WARNING AFTER ICE AND SNOW HIT DONEGAL

GARDAÍ have issued a safer driving alert to motorists in County Donegal as overnight temperatures plummeted and snow flurries hit some parts of the county.

 

Forecasters are warning of chilly nights over the weekend.

Many road are treacherous this morning with council officials and gardai urging motorists to drive to suit the conditions.

Donegal County Council gritting lorries were on all major routes from 6am, the council said.

Most of the snow has been confined to the hills, but some roads are in a poor condition.
