A woman had a terrifying experience after a driver of a bogus ESB van approached her home.

A woman has been left terrified after a driver of a bogus ESB van attempted to get into her home in Donegal.

The woman wishes to remain anonymous as she fears they may return to her home.

She has contacted us at Donegal Daily to make people aware that these fraudsters are trying to gain access to your property – and for homeowners to be vigilant at all times.

She told Donegal Daily, “I just want to let everyone know that an ESB van came into my estate in Letterkenny a number of weeks ago.

The driver was banging hard at my door – he didn’t knock or use the door bell – he just banged hard at the door repeatedly.

“I didn’t open the door as I was afraid because I was alone at home, and my husband was away at this time.

“After few minutes, he eventually gave up and drove away.

It must have been one of those bogus ESB vans going around Donegal because they way he behaved scary, and I knew something just didn’t feel right.

“When ESB workers visit to read the meters or want something else, then they usually just drop the paper with information in the post box that you missed at the time of their calling.

“But this man just banged at the door and then quickly went to the van and drove away.

“Please kindly pass the information on for others to be aware of them.

“I want to stay anonymous please in case they want to come back again.
