With the Irish 2016 triathlon season underway, 24/7 triathlon club Letterkenny came out of the blocks well prepared reporting great results at the weekend in from the National series duathlon in Naas.

247 club member Gavin Crawford finishing in an impressive 7th overall (35-39) winning his age group & Jack Brennan 46th over all & 7th in his (20-24) age group and Lisa Dalton unfortunately had to pull out on her second run with an injured leg, Lisa has been struggling with this same injury. Super vet John Connaghan and last years national vets duathlon champion once again had a great results.

Letterkenny 247 Triathlon club are hosting their annual Duathlon event, based at Letterkenny Aura leisure centre, on Sunday March 6th. This year it will be even bigger and better with a new Standard Distance 10k Run-40k Bike-5k Run (National Series) and a Sprint Distance 3.2k Run-16k Bike-3.2k Run.
The new Standard Distance Duathlon will bring a new challenge to most athletes and will certainly test their endurance over this longer distance event, which will take in some of the most beautiful running and cycling routes in Donegal.
The Sprint Distance Duathlon will follow a similar route to previous year’s Duathlon event. This is always a fantastic event with athletes of all capabilities from across the country taking part.
This is a fully sanctioned Triathlon Ireland event and will have electronically chipped timing so all splits are correct to the second. We expect a large number of competitors this year so please get entered as early as possible once the online entry system opens, through the Triathlon Ireland website.
We will be keeping you up to date on the race on this page so please join the event. In the meantime, if you have any queries please feel free to contact the race director at 247duathlon.gmail.com
