Scor*
Hard luck but still a massive well done to our Instrumental Music Group of Caoimhe Ni Raghallaigh, Kyle Macauley, Eoin and Liam Orr and Noel Lineghan who participated in the Clubs first ever the Ulster Scor Final last Saturday in Downpatrick. Unfortunately no Clubs from Donegal were successful in the competition but nevertheless it was a huge achievement to get so far. A special word of thanks too to our Cultural Officer Brendan Ward for all the hard work he does behind the scenes for Scor events. Comhgairdeachas airís

Gaoth Dobhair 1-4 CLG BnaG 1-8
Na Galloglaigh got life under new management off to a winning start on Saturday with victory over an understrength Gaoth Dobhair in the Senior Gaeltacht. Conditions were extremely difficult with a gale blowing down a pitch which was slippery underfoot. Na Galloglaigh started with that gale at their backs but it was Gaoth Dobhair who opened the scoring with a goal with they cut through the defence after 10 minutes. From then on though Na Galloglaigh raised the intensity and the free taking of Cathal Mc Gettigan put them back in the lead before Christopher Barrett tagged on several points to leave the half time score 1-0 to 0-8. Anyone watching the game would have had doubts whether 5 points would have been enough of a lead at half time with the gale force wind, and when Gaoth Dobhair scored their first point immediately after the restart it spelled trouble for Na Galloglaigh. However they defended very well and kept possession as best they could to limit Gaoth Dobhairs opportunities to score. With ten minutes to go Conor McNulty scored an early contender for goal of the season when a flowing move involving nearly every player on the pitch saw the corner back pop up to fist the ball past the keeper. This put Na Galloglaigh 7 points clear and it was then backs to the wall for the remainder of the game. They stood steadfast to everything Gaoth Dobhair threw at them and although the hosts scored 3 late points the boys in blue did enough to advance to the next round by 4 points. The boys will now play the winners of Cloughaneely or Termon at home in the quarter final which is scheduled for the 12th of March. In the Reserve match Na Galloglaigh struggled to take full advantage of the wind at their backs in the first half to lead 0-3 to 0-2 and were eventually well beat by the hosts 3-14 tp 0-4. SeniorTeam: Caolan Mc Gettigan, Gavin Grier, Barry McNulty, Conor McNulty (1-0), TJ Evesson, Paddy Peoples, Enda McHugh, Sean Black, Anthony Fisher, Jonny Logue, Christopher Barrett (0-3), Dean Burgess, David Curley, Pauric Curley, Cathal McGettigan (0-5). Adam Serrinha for Burgess (33m), Brandon Toye for Logue (45m), Kieran Sheridan for C. McNulty (50m)
