GAA NEWS: GLENFIN RESERVES EARN GOOD WIN OVER TERMON IN JUNIOR GAELTACHT CLASH

Lotto winning numbers for the 23/02/16 are 4-7-3-2-6-1-8-5.                                                                                              Jean Taylor matched 3 numbers and wins €60.00                                                                                                   Jackpot for 01/03/16 is €2800.

Club Membership: The club are holding a registration night on Wednesday the 2nd of March from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. Anyone wishing to pay their membership can do so on that night. Adults €50.00. U18 €20.00

Minor Board:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Under age training: Wednesday U8 6.00pm- 7.00pm and U10 7.00pm – 8.00pm.                                                  Thursdays, under 12, under 13 & under 14 Boys 6.15pm to 7.15pm.

2016 Gaeltacht                                                                                                                                                                   Our reserves had a good victory over Termon in the Junior Gaeltacht on Saturday last on a score line of 07 to 1.03. Termon started the best and had a 1.01 on the score board before Glenfin registered a score, but 3 late points brought Glenfin back into the game and left the half time score at 03 to 1.01. Termon with the wind in their backs for the second half failed to take advantage of it and only scored 2 point and with the home team registering 4 point left them with the 1 point victory. Glenfin scores were Ciaran Moy 02, Hugh Foy 02, Conor McBride 02 and Jason Marley 01.

Our senior team are out this Saturday the 27th in the Gaeltacht at 12.00 noon away to Glenswilly.

Ladies:  Minor Training Wednesday 8pm to 9pm.

Handball:  Well done to all our Hand-ballers who represented Donegal in the Ulster Hand ball competition on Sunday last the 21st in Belfast.                                                                                                                               Handball training for all National schools on Monday nights from 6.30pm to 8.00pm

 

CLG Gleann Fhinne held its annual presentation night in Harkins bar Brokagh on Saturday night last.                         It was great night and many thanks to all who attended.

The following awards were presented.                                                                                                                       The Tommy Herron memorial handball competition winners:                                                                                   Ladies winner – Katy Herron. Runner up- Mary Ward                                                                                                  Division one mens winner – Odhran Mc Gylnn. Runner up – Daniel McGylnn                                                                             Division 2 winner – Liam Ward. Runner up – Martin Mc Glynn                                                                            Division 3 – Peadar Campbell. Runner up – Gary Herron

Paul McGylnn received recognition for all his hard work organising the tournament.

Also presented with their medals were the three victorious teams

The ladies who won the senior County Gaeltacht Competition, The reserves who won the division 2 league and the U21 Boys who won the county B championship.

Minor Ladies player of the year – Sinead McGinty                                                                                                       Most improved minor player – Catherine Browne

Senior Ladies player of the year – Annamarie McGlynn

Minor boys player of the year – David Carr                                                                                                              Most improved minor player – Matthew Mc Ginley

Junior team player of the year – Matthew Mc Ginley

Reserve player of the year – Aodhfin Mc Gylnn

Senior player of the year – Daniel Harkin

Club person of the year – Eddie Moy

Eddie Moy also received special recognition award for all his hard work over the last 26 years as club treasurer.

Brendan Carr received special recognition award for all his hard work as minor board chairman.
